Special Education & Family Advocacy

Personalized Advocacy Support

$250

Focused support

A focused consultation to help you understand your options and prepare for meaningful conversations with your child's school team.

A More Personal Way to Navigate Special Education

I begin by listening carefully to your family's concerns, priorities, and goals. Together, we can review relevant records, clarify questions, and identify the decisions that need attention. The conversation is practical and centered on your child's individual needs.

You leave with a clearer understanding of the process and a more organized way to participate in next steps. Whether you are preparing for an IEP meeting, reviewing evaluations, or seeking better communication, I offer thoughtful guidance without adding unnecessary complexity.

Ideal For

  • Families preparing for an IEP or eligibility meeting

  • Parents reviewing evaluations or proposed services

  • Caregivers seeking clearer school communication

  • Families unsure about their next advocacy step

How It Works

  1. Share Your Concerns: Tell me what is happening and what you hope to accomplish.

  2. Review The Details: We examine relevant information and identify key questions.

  3. Map Next Steps: I help you organize a practical plan for moving forward.

About

A Record of Showing Up

Public leadership is built over time — by listening, learning, serving, and continuing to show up.

My journey has evolved significantly since I first stepped into D.C. public advocacy and electoral politics. Each experience has shaped how I understand leadership, community, and the responsibility that comes with asking people to trust you with their voice.

2020 — Stepping Into Public Leadership

Entered citywide education advocacy and electoral politics, bringing my experience as an educator, parent, and community advocate into conversations about the future of public education in Washington, D.C.

2022 — Elected Leadership

Earned the trust of my neighbors through a successful write-in campaign for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, beginning my service as an elected neighborhood representative.

That same year, I was also elected as one of Ward 7’s Democratic Committeewomen, serving with the Ward 7 Democrats and as a member of the D.C. Democratic Party Executive Committee.

2024 — Reelected to Serve

Reelected as an ANC Commissioner with a decisive majority, reflecting continued community trust and a growing record of constituent service, advocacy, and neighborhood leadership.

2025–2026 — Expanding the Work

Expanded my advocacy beyond individual neighborhood concerns to examine how education, transportation, housing, development, family opportunity, and government accountability intersect.

I continued serving in Democratic Party leadership through my 2022–2026 term as a Ward 7 Democratic Committeewoman while broadening my work through public testimony, community organizing, civic engagement, writing, campaigns, and direct advocacy.

2026 — A Broader Public Voice

Continued taking my work into citywide conversations, using campaigns, public testimony, community engagement, advocacy, and writing to address issues affecting residents across Washington, D.C.

My leadership today reflects years of growth. The person who stepped forward in 2020 helped build the leader I am in 2026. My perspective has expanded, my understanding of government has deepened, and my vision for what equitable and accountable public leadership can accomplish has become clearer.

The work continues.

Plant. Grow. Lead.
